The US Department of Homeland Security announced a delay to the H-1B selection rule which was previously announced by the Trump Administration. The official notice of this delay will be published in the Federal Register on February 8, 2021. The delay means that this rule will not impact the H-1B selection process in 2021, and may be altered before the 2022 selection process is finalized.
The Trump Administration wanted to change the H-1B selection process to make it favor higher-wage positions, as described previously. It is doubtful that the Biden Administration will continue with this plan, but for the moment it is simply being delayed until December 31, 2021.
